5 SHAMANS, 1 MISSION: AN UNEXPECTED QUEST! When Every Option Has Been Exhausted… Does a Shaman Become the Last Resort?

Kuala Lumpur, June 4, 2026 – In the pursuit of dreams or quick solutions, some people are willing to place their hopes in things they believe can change their fate. But how much of that belief truly helps, and how much simply creates opportunities for deception by those who exploit human hopes and desperation?

Inspired by this reality, 5 Bomoh, the latest film directed by Syed Fariz, arrives as an entertaining comedy that also delivers a meaningful social message closely connected to everyday life. Set to premiere in cinemas nationwide on June 4, 2026, the film invites audiences to examine a phenomenon that frequently occurs in society through a light-hearted, humorous, and thought-provoking perspective.

Produced by Global Station Sdn Bhd, distributed by Skop Production Sdn Bhd, and marketed by Primeworks Studios in collaboration with Mask Team, 5 Bomoh features a star-studded cast including Dato’ Aaron Aziz, Scha Alyahya, Khairy Jamaludin, Ungku Hariz, Tiara Rose, Dato’ Afdlin Shauki, Johan, Amy Search, Aedy Ashraf, and Ozlynn Waty. Bringing together talents from diverse backgrounds, the film offers a refreshing blend of personalities and comedic situations guaranteed to entertain audiences.

The story follows Rashdan (Dato’ Aaron Aziz), a businessman who has believed in superstitions and traditional mystical practices since childhood. In contrast, his wife Sakinah (Scha Alyahya) places her faith in religious teachings and believes in science, education, and the power of prayer when facing life’s challenges.

Everything changes when their daughter, Nisa (Tiara Rose), fails to achieve excellent results in her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) trial examinations. Desperate to see his daughter become the first member of the family to further her studies abroad, Rashdan begins to panic and searches for every possible way to make his dream a reality.

Following the suggestion of his assistant, Alam (Ungku Hariz), Rashdan embarks on a journey across various states with his family in search of answers from several shamans who are said to possess extraordinary powers. However, the journey does not lead them to the solutions they hoped for. Instead, they encounter one scam after another, exposing greed and the manipulation of people’s beliefs for personal gain.

According to director Syed Fariz, 5 Shamans is more than just a comedy, it is a film filled with social satire that encourages audiences to reflect on societal realities from a more relaxed perspective. “Through comedy, we aim to deliver the message that there are no shortcuts to success. Sometimes people are too quick to believe in things that promise instant results, forgetting that effort, knowledge, and prayer are the true foundations of achieving any dream. While the film is presented in a light and entertaining manner, its message is deeply relevant to our daily lives.”

At the same time, 5 Bomoh also explores family relationships, parental pressure on children, and society’s tendency to seek easy solutions when confronted with life’s challenges. Combining fresh comedy, sharp observations of social realities, and meaningful themes, the film offers an enjoyable viewing experience suitable for the whole family.
